2017 Stakeholders’ Forum in Seoul, Republic of Korea

The Stakeholders’ Forum of ASEM Network of
MOOCs Initiative took place in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, on the 7th
of November, 2017. MOOC-related representatives in ASEM gathered to improve in
MOOC system. Events of speeches, surveys, and proposals were progressed. And
there was signing ceremony on MOOC-based academic exchange and cooperation.
In the main session, speeches were
delivered. MOOC-related ASEM network and its progress were introduced, and
future directions were presented. In addition, a survey was conducted, which
was to decide each country’s or institution’s roles and responsibilities on the
four MOOC projects. Future plans were also proposed: a survey for best
practices, usage, and recognition of MOOCs, a workshop to discuss joint
development of ASEM MOOC contents, a Stakeholders’ Forum of the next year.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed
between FUN-MOOCs of France and K-MOOC of Republic of Korea on courses of
language and culture. On courses of hospitality and tourism, Dusit Thani
College, Mae Fah Luang University of Thailand, and the Jeju National University
of Korea have signed an MOU. Also, on courses of data science, Chulalongkorn
University of Thailand and Korea University of the Republic of Korea have
signed the joint statement on MOOC-based cooperation and collaboration.
