Project 1. The ASEM MOOC Stakeholders’ Forum
The ASEM MOOC Initiative holds an annual Stakeholders’ Forum. The forum has the purposes of promoting dialogue among ASEM partners and building cooperation in co-development of ASEM MOOC content.
The forum is also expected to lay the foundation for MOOC-based international connectivity and communities, and to offer constructive policy inputs for the ASEM Education Ministers’ Meeting.
The forum is opened to rectors from governments and educational organizations, such as colleges, officials in MOOC-related organizations, and experts in education. Attendees can learn about MOOC cases and their partners’ experiences. They can also form networks with overseas governments, principals of colleges, experts, and officials in order to share knowledge and establish a base for cooperation.
Since 2017, the forum has been held annually. The last forum (in 2019) was held at Pahang University in Malaysia, while the forums for 2017 and 2018 were held in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Each of these forums offered speeches and networking sessions. In particular, the 2019 forum showcased speakers from various countries and presented ample subjects that expanded on previous years.
